It’s finally starting to feel like winter in Colorado. I have a love- hate relationship with this season. I enjoy the calm pause that comes after a busy summer. The snow is beautiful too. I appreciate our modern heating systems and admire how much effort our ancestors put into remaining warm. It’s a time to slow down and reflect on who and what is important in our lives.
By slowing down and stopping, we give ourselves the option to change trajectory. We can choose what to leave behind, and what to carry forward. It always takes me all month to clarify what I need to resolve this year to move confidently into the next year, what I call my “Old Year’s Resolution”, and it sets the stage to act on my “New Year’s Resolutions”
It takes a bit to wrap up the year but maybe this will give you some fun ideas
1. Cleaning your house and donating “no thank you” items/clothes. KonMari time! I also like to find mathoms in this process. What are mathoms? In Hobbit culture, they are re-gifted items that you don’t need but you’re too fond of to discard.
2. Having difficult conversations to clear the air of lingering feelings. Forgiveness is like doing the dishes- you need some soap (sorry), water (acknowledgement) and action (the sponge/scrubbing). All connections take some amount of maintenance.
3. Finish projects that you started. Such as DIY stuff around the house, or a book you’re writing.
Anyways.
I’m starting to do daily posts on my social media, and will be including comic time-lapses in the newsletter as well. However you close out your year, I hope it goes wonderfully. Byeeeee
